This free Joomla administrator module will show you any articles that have duplicate meta descriptions. This is extremely helpful for anybody who is serious about Search Engine Optimization and wants to improve their placement in Google search results.
This module will list each article with duplicate meta descriptions with its title, article id, section id, category id, and a quick link to edit each article.
While it is true that meta keywords no longer have much weight with the search engines, Google still counts the meta description as being very important. Google uses the meta description for keywords and phrases to tell what the page is about, and also uses the meta description as the textual preview for search results. The meta descriptions are so important, in fact, that the Google Webmaster Tools website has a section dedicated to pages on your site with duplicated meta descriptions to help you make sure you don't get penalized.
