Articles With Duplicate Title Aliases Administrator Module This free Joomla administrator module will show you any articles that have duplicated title aliases. Duplicated article title aliases can cause problems with search engine optimization and SEF URL components, but this module will make it easy to locate any duplicate aliases so you can quickly fix any problems.

Components like sh404SEF have a default setting of using article title aliases for their SEF URLs. This means that if you have more than one article with the same title alias then it can confuse the SEF component.

Sometimes this will result in a number being placed at the end of one of the URLs. This isn't the end of the world but it isn't ideal if you're already putting time and effort into search engine optimization for your site.

If your SEF component doesn't place a number in the URL to differentiate the articles, then it will use multiple Joomla URLs for each SEF URL. This is useful for abstracting Joomla's Itemid system, but it also means that - coupled with duplicate title aliases - some of your articles will be impossible to reach, and instead your visitors will only be taken to one of the articles with the duplicated aliases.

To fix this issue, simply make sure your titles and title aliases are unique. This administrator module will show you exactly which articles have duplicate aliases and gives you links to quickly change and fix them.

This administrator module installs just like any other module. Once installed, publish the module and set it to the "cpanel" position. It will show you every article with a duplicated title alias, along with its article id, section id, category id, and a quick link to edit each article.
