Yesterday, I upgraded to Joomla 1.5. It's really a great thing. Well, with that update, I needed new plugins for social bookmarking. My site uses Digg as its primary way of getting the stuff out.

Now, the problem we're facing is that whenever we click on the Digg-icon, the submission takes place without any problems. However, the problems arise later when we return to our articles.

You see, normally, when you have dugg something the digg button displays the number of diggs and instead of "Digg it!" it says "Dugg!" underneath the yellow box.

After submitting our articles to Digg, nothing happens with the icon. It stays in the Numberless form and won't display the number of Diggs.

What can I do to fix that?

I work for www.indpendentcomicssite.net and for now I have deactivated the Digg-icon.

If you enable it then I can try to find the issue. Otherwise there's nothing I can do for you.

Off the top of my head, if you moved to Joomla 1.5 from 1.0 then there's a good chance your URL structure changed. If that's the case, then you aren't seeing any Diggs because your new URLs have never been submitted to Digg.

It affects the new articles as well, which is the entire problem, really.

You need to turn on SEF URLs. All the ampersands in your URLs make it too hard for the social bookmarking sites to read.

First you need to turn on SEF URLs in your global settings. Then you can install sh404SEF if you want better search engine optimization for your site.
